A woman was killed while driving on I-85 on Friday morning when a truck tire crashed through her windshield.
Avila Masud, 47, of Tucker was heading south in her Plymouth Voyager with her 16-year-old daughter when a front tire came off a pickup truck traveling north and hopped the median north of Clairmont Road before 8:30 a.m., according to cbsatlanta.com.
Masud's daughter wasn't injured and was taken Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston for observation. The pickup driver wasn't injured either.
The three left lanes of I-85 southbound were blocked by the accident investigation, leaving the three right lanes open, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
