An armed robber held up the Family Dollar in North Decatur on Sunday night, demanding money and diapers before fleeing, DeKalb County police said.
The suspect walked into the store at 2615 North Decatur Road just before 8 p.m. and approached a clerk with his hands in his pockets, the police report said. He grabbed the clerk, and she told police she saw a black handgun in his waistband or pocket.
"Come over here," the suspect said, pushing her toward the front of the store. "Get all the money out the safe."
A witness was standing in front of the suspect and the clerk.
"Don't stand there stuck on stupid," the supsect said, and the witness stepped out of the way.
The clerk opened the safe and handed the supsect more than $1,400 in cash.
"Give me some Pampers, number four," the suspect said.
The clerk gave him the diapers, but he left them before fleeing.
