The National Weather Service forecast is calling for a wintry mix tonight.

The North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area could see snow Thursday night, though, if anything, it'll likely be less than a half inch, according to the National Weather Service at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

DeKalb County, along with much of the metro Atlanta area and northern Georgia, is under a Winter Storm Watch, and the biggest impact to our community is likely to be patches of black ice Thursday night and Friday morning when temperatures fall below freezing.

The county is also under a Flood Watch due to saturated soil from rain over the last several days.

Expect occasional rain before 4 p.m. and then rain and snow thereafter. Wind gusts could reach as high as 30 mph. The service predicted precipitation with 100 percent certainty during the day and 80 percent at night with less than a half an inch falling in both time periods.

The heaviest snowfall would be in the north Georgia mountains, which could see 2 to 4 inches.
