St. Pius X Catholic High School and Monsignor Richard Lopez will host “Dad’s Morning of Recollection” on Saturday, Jan. 26. The event which celebrates our shared faith and commitment to fatherhood is in its 22nd year and is open to all past, present and future St. Pius alumni, fathers, grandfathers and friends.
The event this year will begin with Mass and a light breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by a reflection on the theme of the year, "Preparing Our Kids for Eternity.” Following the presentation there will be time for meditation, discussions and a question and answer session. The event will conclude at approximately 12:30 p.m. with the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Prior to the event, Msgr. Lopez asks students in his classroom a series of questions about their fathers. He then shares those notes with the fathers in attendance.
“Many students will say things in writing that they may not say in person. The remarks are often humorous and very moving,” said Msgr. Lopez.
Men of all ages will benefit from the insightful presentation. They are challenged to learn how to be better fathers, husbands and spiritual leaders by incorporating laughter, prayer, fellowship, and Scripture readings into family life.
