Natasha Sherrod signs NLI to play softball at Presbyterian College.

St. Pius has had two senior student athletes sign national letters-of-intent with NCAA Division I colleges during the fall signing period. Emily Morrison (Norcross) and Natasha Sherrod (Atlanta) will further their athletic careers in volleyball and softball, respectively.

Morrison, an outside hitter and four-year varsity letter winner, signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga beginning in the fall of 2013. She has been selected first team AAA all-state for three consecutive years and has led the Golden Lion volleyball squad to back-to-back state runner-up finishes in 2011 and 2012. Morrison holds the school record for kills in a career and career kills per game. She was named a “Super 79 Sophomore” by prepvolleyball.com in 2010. UTC plays in the Southern Conference.

Sherrod signed a softball national letter-of-intent with Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. An All-Region selection in 2010 and 2012, she was named Best Offensive Player in 2011 and Best All-Around in 2012. She holds the school season and career doubles record and led the state in doubles in 2010. In three seasons she collected 41 doubles and 82 runs batted in on 125 hits. Her career double mark is tied for tenth most in state history. Sherrod led the team to three straight region titles from 2009-2011. Presbyterian is a member of the Big South Conference.
