A Northlake man was robbed of several thousand dollars at gunpoint as he left his apartment Friday, DeKalb County police said.
The man, 37, was walking toward his vehicle on the parking deck of The Ava apartment complex in the 2200 block of Parklake Drive when he was approached from behind by a man pointing a black 9mm handgun at him at about 9:30 p.m., the police report said.
"Give me all of your [stuff]," the robber said.
The suspect took a cash desposit bag with $6,100 in it – the man owns a nearby gas station – a cell phone, car keys, house keys and the station's keys. The robber got into a white Honda Civic driven by a second suspect and fled in an unknown direction.
A witness also told police he approached the Civic while the robbery was underway, and the robber pointed his gun at him to get him to step aside so they could drive away.
The first suspect was described as a black male with a light brown complexion and about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a low-cut hair style. He wore a white T-shirt. The second suspect was also described as a black male with a light brown complexion and about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a low-cut hair style. He also wore a white T-shirt.
