Roughly 50 residents of the Sargent Hills neighborhood and supporters of Little Creek Farm, dressed in red, packed Stone Mountain Library during the District 4 Community Council meeting Tuesday.

A Decatur resident who opposes the construction of an 18-pump RaceTrac gas station and market on Lawrenceville Highway has launched an online petition and is asking local residents to sign it.

Leah Salby, owner of Computer Cents Consulting, started the petition on change.org. It had 162 signatures as of noon Monday.

The petition says:

It would cause more traffic and block the entrance to the Little Horse Creek Farm, a conservancy. We need the green space left alone. Why 2 gas stations? QT gas station is across the street. We need more green space not gas stations.
The conservancy is there. There are horses and a pristine green space that would be polluted. RaceTrac has no comment or testing on this. It must be stopped! It would bring down home values and take away from the pristine area. Go visit the Conservancy and walk the grounds at Litte Creek Farm. The impact would be one of pollution to the animals.

Here's more of our coverage on the RaceTrac issue:
