In the GOP primary for state House District 81, Chris Boedecker appeared certain to defeat Carla Roberts.
Hunter Hill appears to have won the Republican nomination for the State Senate District 6 seat, setting him up to face off in November with Democratic incumbent Doug Stoner of Smyrna.
Donzella James received 75% of the vote, easily defeating challengers in State Senate Dist. 35.
In the State Senate Dist. 38 race, incumbent Horacena Tate had a commanding lead over challenger Reginald Crossley.
In DeKalb County, Elaine Boyer, a long-standing veteran of the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners' District 1 seat, crushed her only GOP challenger.
Incumbent Sharon Barnes-Sutton was cruising toward re-election to the DeKalb County District 4 commisson seat.
Newcomer Marshall Orson was poised to oust incumbent Don McChesney from the District 2 DeKalb School Board seat.
DeKalb School Board Incumbent Paul Womack was headed for a runoff after getting less than 50% of the vote for the District 4 seat.
Kathie Gannon, the incumbent DeKalb County Commission for District 6, appeared headed for an easy re-election win in the Democratic primary.
School Board District 8 incumbent Pamela Speaks apparently edged out her opponent, Michelle Clark.
