The mission team from Briarlake Baptist Church is gearing up for its June 16-29 trip to Cape Town, South Africa, where it will work with churches there in reaching close to 2,000 children through hosting several camps. Mission team members will also feed meals to the hungry in Cape Town communities.
The group is chronicling the extensive prep work for the trip on its Facebook page, "Briarlake Goes to Cape Town 2013":
It takes many hands to get everything ready to go for the Mission trip. We have had many volunteers already come and work on supply packing projects...even a group of 15 refugees from the IRC (International Rescue Committee) came to sort and pack crayons to distribute to the children in Cape Town!

South Africa 2013 is underway...well, the preparation anyhow. We depart in 19 days (June 16)! We have finished seven weeks of training with our amazing team. God has brought together an incredible group of people with giving and eager spirits. They are praying and preparing for all that God has in store for them. They can't wait to meet all of the children we will serve throughout the Cape Flats! Join us in praying for this year's mission trip: safe travel, good health, and for many opportunities to love and serve our brothers and sisters in CT. Thanks for partnering with us!
