Man robbed at gunpoint on Buford Highway
An Atlanta man was robbed at gunpoint while walking home along Buford Highway early Monday morning, DeKalb County police said.
The 23-year-old victim was walking north, returning home from QuikTrip at 3292 Buford Highway, when he noticed four men coming from Epic Gardens apartments at 3460 Buford Highway, catching up to him, at about 12:30am, the police report said.
One of the men got in front of the victim, pointed a black, semiautomatic handgun at him and said, "I need all your money and everything you have."
The victim gave the suspect $300, an Android cell phone and the items he purchased at the gas station. Then the suspects beat him up. A witness saw the incident, and the suspects fled.
The gun-toting suspect was described as a Hispanic male about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slim build. He wore a black shirt and black shorts. A second suspect was described as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 240 pounds, wearing a black shirt and black shorts.
A third suspect was described as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet 4 inches tall and about 16 years old. He had long, black hair and a slim build and wore a black shirt and black shorts. The fourth suspect was also described as a Hispanic male about 5 feet 4 inches tall and 16 years old with long, black hair. He also wore a black shirt and black shorts.
Rash of auto thefts reported at Arbor Hills Apartments
A rash of auto thefts at Arbor Hills Apartments on North Druid Hills Road were reported to DeKalb County police this week.
The following cars were reported stolen from the complex:
- A red Jonway moped between 9pm Saturday and 4pm Sunday;
- A black Moti moped between 6pm Saturday and 5pm Sunday;
- A four-door, silver 2000 Honda Civic between 2am and 2pm Sunday.
