After the event was canceled two weeks ago due to anticipated inclement weather, Sunday's Oak Groove Festival was to go on – rain or shine.
And that's what it did.
The festival, with musical performances from local groups and more than 40 vendors, opened in Vista Grove Shopping Center in Oak Grove at 1 p.m. Sunday in the middle of a thunderstorm. But, within about an hour, the rain stopped, a crowd of hundreds arrived and the festival seemed to go off as planned. (Patch was there talking to readers and enjoying the festival.
