- Woman Robbed at Gunpoint in Northlake Mall Parking Lot: This got a lot of people's attention. The DeKalb County Police Department continues to have issues with its crime map, so hopefully our crime reporting will pick up soon once that's fixed.
- McMahan Defeats Womack In District 4 School Board Runoff: It'll be interesting to see how McMahan's election changes the school board (if at all). We'll find out soon enough, starting in Janaury.
- Suburban Plaza Annexation Would Add 2,000 New Residents to Decatur: We've been covering this issue because it includes Suburban Plaza and parts of North Decatur we typically cover. It's good to keep in mind though because there's plenty more unincorporated land north of this proposed boundary that would be ripe for incorporation as well.
- Henderson Middle Needs Grandparents to Volunteer After Budget Cuts: School board budgetary cuts are reaching the schools. An anecdotal example.
- Mom: McLendon Elementary Children Left Asleep on Bus: This story alarmed some parents, apparently.
